New dream for the serious cat photographer

A new dream for the serious cat photographer was released by Canon - the new Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

The camera has 21.1-Mp 'Full-Frame' (24x36mm) Sensor. It is the first EOS with movie recording ability. The most important thing beside the full-frame is the good noise levels at higher ISO such as ISO 800 and ISO 1600. The bad news is that if you want to enjoy its best quality of the picture, you'll need to use only L prime lenses. But that's not a problem (if you are quality maniac you'll already have at least one).

All that comes on the very sweet price of 2700 USD at BH Photo Video. It will be available in November.

I wish I'll can buy one for Christmas... Wish me luck.

These stray kitties wore hiding in a basement. Their mother is somewhere around, probably searching for food. The picture of this cat family was made with Canon 75-300mm - that's why it so blurry. A terrible lens.

I, personally, don't like the idea to dress an animal, whatever cat or any other animal. It's like you are treating them like objects, not like living beings.

Considering donations for the bulgarian cats

I'm wondering if I should use my new cat site to get donations for the Bulgarian stray cats. As you know there is big corruption in Bulgaria, so donating, or relaying on the official institution is like waiting your dog to feed your cat. I showed you on few photos in this blog in what conditions these cats live. They don't get vaccinated. They don't get parasite treatment... If you don't remember - here is a photo of an ordinery feral kitten in Bulgaria:

So, this cute white cat was a month or two old, and full with cuteness. One of the most perfect creatures I've ever seen.. It was very hard to shot, because I didn't have a flash that time, and as you see it's an indoor shot. But it still looks good right?

Another picture of my cute colourpoint persian cat. Isn't she CUTE!!! Currently she is looking for a handsome white male persian cat. So, if you can connect me with someone who has one - please do it (I'm in Bulgaria as you know). On the point - the photo is made with Canon 20D and Canon EF 35mm f/2 at f/4. The lens is a lot blurry at f/2, but very sharp at f/4 (as sharp as Canon EF 135mm f/2 at f/2 if you know what I meen).

I found this baby cat in Varna. It was hiding between the buildings, scared, searching for food (or love). The people who lived in the neighborhood feeded this lonely baby cat, but it was still scared. In present, it became very beautiful cat, healthy and straight.

Another one of my favorites - cute brown tabby, on blurred grey background. The cat liked to be photographed. It made different poses, it was not afraid from the camera. This photo was made with my Canon EF 135/2L (again) - maybe the perfect lens for cat photography (if you don't have money for Canon 300/2.8IS)

I made this photo of face of a cat with my "new" CZ Sonnar 135/3.5 and Canon 350D. It looks like a good lens for me (the best on this focal length for this price). A little information about the cat - I saw it in a yard of a house in Varna :) It came to me, it was very nice and beautiful. Acted with no fear

I made this photo of kitty yesterday with my new Sony R1. It was shot at 120mm f/4.8. Looks good for no DSLR camera. So, the kitty was with his mother, beautiful as he is. They was hiding in some bushes. I sat next to them for 15-20 mins until they calm down and made the photo.
